Descript X PodIntelligence for Audiograms
What are audiograms
A podcast audiogram is an image or text-driven video and layered with other elements on top, such as a waveform and/or transcriptions. Essentially, it combines visual arts, audio tracks, sound-waves, and text to create a highly shareable marketing asset.
Any content creator (podcasters, YouTubers, webinar hosts) can create audiograms that function like a trailer or teaser for their longer-form content. Audiograms are effective and more interesting than text alone because they combine audio, visual, and text elements, along with a snippet of the audio or video content to grab viewers’ attention.
Do audiograms work when it comes to repurposing your content?
WNYC, New York City’s public radio station WNYC was one of the first content creators to use audiograms. “On Twitter, the average engagement for an audiogram is 8x higher than a non-audiogram tweet and on Facebook some of our shows are seeing audiogram reach outperform photos and links by 58% and 83% respectively.”
In a Headliner study, they shared a podcast episode on Facebook in two different ways using static image vs. audiogram. The audiogram generated five times more traffic.
How does PodIntelligence help
Audiograms are attractive assets to create but the process can be daunting if you are faced with an hour (or even hours) of audio or video content. Most interview format podcasts, webinars or multi-day summit content can take a long time to process – but PodIntelligence breaks down hours of content into bite-sized, keyword-driven assets you can use right away.
As a result, PodIntelligence (PI) significantly reduced the time to create audiograms. Because PI already provides dozens of short audio and video clips (around 1 minute per clip), it will save you time processing these content compared to uploading one hour audio or video to audiogram software. Plus PI will also give you insights to what you are actually creating based on keyword summary, you’ll never to mindlessly look through mountains of content hoping you’d stumble upon a phase, a segment that’s worthy of producing an audiogram.
